Enlargement Rejected
Last July, after considerablE
lontroversy, the Senate voted
down a Proposal which would
have enlarged the present
'.Watchdog subcommittee so as
to include Foreign policy
.Committee members. ? The

At that time, members of
the Foreign 'Relations Com-
mittee contended that they
should have a role in over-
seeing intelligence operations
because they involved foreign

pansion proposal an attempt to
"muscle in" on- jurisdiction
of the Appropriations and the
Armed Services Committees.
The six-member CIA group
is drawn from the latter two
committees. .. .
