3. Briefed Jay Sourwine, Chief Counsel, Senate
Special Subcommittee on Internal Security, on S. 1035 and the problems
which it creates for the Agency. Sourwine was very quick to recognize this
as a bad bill not only for the Agency but for the Executive Branch in general.
He noted on his own the ifrr erase number of law suits which could result from
the provisions of Section 5. Sourwine felt that we should indeed be in touch
with Senator Eastland at the earliest possible time to discuss this bill with
him. Eastland will return to Washington on 27 June.
