Otto Skorzeny, the former SS colonel who rescued Mussolini, planned.
to kidnap Fidel Castro and take him to an undisclosed place, according
to a feature article in the Sunday supplement of. La Cronica published
in Lima, Peru, on,7 August 1966. The article says that the plan, known
as "Project Tropical,".having the approval of Allen Dulles,, head of
CIA, was to have been carried out in 1961 but was vetoed by President
John F. Kennedy.
