STAT Approved For Release 2005/11/21: CIA-RDP70-00211 AMERICAN SOCIETY FOR PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION Dear Chapter Member: Our first speaker of the new year will be Theodore C. Streibert, Director of the United States Information Agency. He will meet with us on Wednesday, J ary 20, 1954 at 12:30 P.M. in the Willard Hote to discuss the reorganization of this age y.tzf-fie e cr ical demands of a "cold-war". U.S.I.A. is responsible for all U. S. information activities abroad. Mr. Streibert, just back from an agency inspection tour of South East Asia, was actively associated with the Mutual Broadcasting System from 1935-1949 at which time he became the company's chairman. He was a member of the Radio Advisory Sub-Committee, U. S. Advisory Committee on Information, State Department; and served as a consultant to State Department on overseas information activities before accepting the Directorate of U.S.I.A. It is interesting to note that Mr. Streibert, working with the President's Advisory Committee on Government Organization, spear- headed the development of the Reorganization Plan for U.S.I.A. which was submitted to Congress by the President early in the year. Please make your reservations for what promises to be a very exciting and informative luncheon by calling REpublic 7-5711 or Code 171, extension 8211. The luncheon price, as usual, is only $2.00, tax and tip included.. Give special attention to the roster of round tables on the reverse side of this announcement. The round table on Executive Reorganization has switched its meeting time from 8:00 P.M. on the third Thursday to 8:00 P.M. on the fourth Thursday of the month. This month's meeting will be held January 28th. The subject and leaders for these monthly discussions have been outstanding to date, and I'm sure that those who have actively participated will agree with me that much is to be gained in these rather informal exchanges. Sincerely yours, John W. Macy, Jr. Approved For Release 2005/11/21 : CIA-RDP70-00211 R000300100032-1 Topic Executive Reorganization Fourth Thursday (Jan. 28) Overseas Administration Second Wed.
