Prefatory Note
The attached check-list of Soviet Officials Abroad is based
on information covering 1940-48 and received prior to 15 June 1948. It
contains the names of official diplomatic roprosontativos and all employees
in any capacity of Soviet embassies, legations and consulates throughout
the word, and the neiaes of % commercial roprosontativos, cultural emissaries,
press corr spondonts, UN delegates, etc. In each case the position listed
in the second column, is the last ono to have boon reported. In cases
whore no information is available on the exact nature of an individual's
duties, he has simply been listed as an employee. Diplomatic couriers)
members of ecclesiastic and other temporary missions, and the rani: and
file of the Soviet military administrr,%ions in occupied areas and of tompo-
rary military or repatriation missions have not boon included.
