`~? JGO) Met with Mr. Carl Marcy, Staff
Director of the Foreign Relations Committee, and advised him that we
had received the Chairman's letter concerning the DOD enemy strength
estimates and are working on it. In the conversation, Mr. Marcy noted
that he had seen press reports concerning the Director's membership
on the Clifford Committee and his hope that the report is an accurate
one. I thanked him for his obvious compliment to the Director, but did
not confirm or deny the report.
