This was a follow up to questions raised by Representative Lipscomb during the Director's briefing of 24 Junk:, Also briefed Mr. Michaels in general Mr. Michaels advised that it would be appreciated if the Agency response outlining the current Soviet military posture which was requested in the meeting of 24 June could be provided by Friday. The Director of OER has been advised. r - with Mr. Harris of the Post Office and Civil Service Manpower S ub- y committee and talked to Mr. Bray by telephone. The Subcommittee staff will be doing further work in preparation for Senator Ervin's appear- ance next week. In consequence, the copies of the transcript of the Director's testimony will be retained over the holiday and possibly over the weekend by the Subcommittee staff. In passing, Mr. Harris advised that all members of the House of Representatives who had evidenced an interest in the S. 1035 hearings had been invited to appear. So far, responses have been received only from Representatives John Moss, Spark Matsunaga and Nick Galifianakis. Received from Mrs. Elsie Thorton a copy of the transcript of the testimony of Senator Ervin for Agency use. Senator Ervin will be continuing his testimony in all probability during the week of 8 July on a date and time to be scheduled. 3.\ 1 Darrell St. Claire, Chief Clerk, of the Senate, visited the A enc for a luncheon.
