13. JSW) Talked with Ray Marble, in the office
of Representative John 0. Marsh, delivering to him, in the absence of
Mr. Marsh, the letter to the Congressman from the Director. I also
asked Mr. Marble to acknowledge to the Congressman the letter to
Mr. Warner.
14. OJSW) Delivered to Mr. Michaels, House Appropriations 25x1
Committee staff, the letter from the Director to the Chairman on the
two reserve transactions. Also left, for tem-porary readin so era
relating to the Also 251
talked to Michaels about the Visits of ongressmen Wolff and ars to
Vietnam.
15. JSW) Mr. Velde, in the office of Senator
Roman L. Hruska, called. The Senator would like a bibliography and
reading materials or illustrations showing mistreatment or prejudices
or slightings of American Nationals in the Soviet Union for use in the
current Senate debate on the consular treaty.. Also, some statements
appeared recently in official publications concerning the Soviet Union's
long-term goals as they approach their 50th year. The Senator would like
some representative samples of these particularly if they show there.
