1. iss Tuchmann, in the office of
Representative Ogden Reid, asked for a good map of Israel and also asked
ifcould speed up delivery
2. I land John S. Warner met
with Chairman Rivers and Russ Blandford for approximately thirty minutes
and briefed them on the current situation in the Middle East war. Mr. Rivers
was most appreciative and requested this daily briefing be continued for
the time being.
3. y way of follow up to his request, arrange-
ments were made for a physical security sweep of Senator Henry Jackson's
private office on Wednesday morning.
4.1 Talked with Al Westphal, of the House
Foreign Affairs Committee staff, regarding the appearance of William Hall
AID, before the Hays Subcommitte

let this matter die unless he was being pressured on it adding that in the final
analysis we would have to take a position that the instructions from our Sub-
committees precluded our discussing this information elsewhere in the
Congress. Westphal said he recalled this subject coming up during Hall's
testimony but would like to check the transcript on it. He said it has come up
a number of time in the Subcommittee (he specifically mentioned the interest
of Representative Gross in this subject) and he expects that it will come up
again. In any event, Westphal is to be back in touch with us on this after he
has reviewed the transcript of Hall's testimony.
