I land John S. Warner met with Chairman Rivers and Russ Blandford for approximately thirty minutes and briefed them on the current situation in the Middle East war. Mr. Rivers was most appreciative and requested this daily briefing be continued for the time being. 3. y way of follow up to his request, arrange- ments were made for a physical security sweep of Senator Henry Jackson's private office on Wednesday morning. 4.1 Talked with Al Westphal, of the House Foreign Affairs Committee staff, regarding the appearance of William Hall AID, before the Hays Subcommitte we wou pre er i Lola let this matter die unless he was being pressured on it adding that in the final analysis we would have to take a position that the instructions from our Sub- committees precluded our discussing this information elsewhere in the Congress. Westphal said he recalled this subject coming up during Hall's testimony but would like to check the transcript on it. He said it has come up a number of time in the Subcommittee (he specifically mentioned the interest of Representative Gross in this subject) and he expects that it will come up again. In any event, Westphal is to be back in touch with us on this after he has reviewed the transcript of Hall's testimony. MORUCIDIF Approved For Release 2006108102?;.CIA-RDP70B00338R0003000600'39,-7
