Talked with Representative Glenard Lipscomb and made firm arrangements to see him at ten o'clock on Tuesday, 24 January. Mr. Morell and two assistants will conduct the briefing. 12. Left with Glee Gomien, in the office of Senator iresen, the transcript of the 15 January 1967 "Issues and Answers" program in which Senator Dirksen was interviewed. She will ascertain for me if the Senator would like any assistance from the Agency on the Soviet ABM picture. 13. I land John S. Warner met with Senator Thomas Kuchel for approximately an hour and briefed him on the Soviet ABM situation. The Senator said he wanted to get the correct facts in his mind so a cou d focus on the real issues and make a responsible decision. He was most interested in the briefing and asked a number of pertinent questions. He had been at the White House the night before and heard Secretary McNamara discuss this question along with many other items and stated that the Agency briefing was of great assistance to him 25X1 in understanding the situation.
