Energy staff the transcript of the Director's briefing of 8 November and
copies of the prepared statement which had been left for the use of the
Committee members during the briefing.

4- Met with James Gehrig, Senate Aeronautical
and Space clences Committee staff, concerning our briefing of the Chairman
and Senator Margaret Chase Smith on 29 November. Gehrig said they were
interested in covering space developments since we last met with them,
particularly recent Soviet accomplishments in boosters and a discussion
of the FOBs. During the conversation, Gehrig mentioned the possibility
of Senators Magnuson and Allott being present at the meeting. I am to be
in touch with Gehrig again before the briefing.
Assistant to Senator Jack Miller, to determine whether Senator Miller
might have obtained a copy of a statement made b at the
recent FAO Conference in Rome which the Senator attended. Mr. Brown
said he was not informed on this but would check on it and be back in touch
with me.
