Senator George Murphy (R., Calif.), press items concerning the performance
of the U.S. intelligence community with regard to the invasion of Czecho-
slovakia, These are for use in responding to a constituent, Carl Bennett.
2. I I - CEA) Left with Warren Littman for Jay Sourwine,
Chief Counsel, Senate Special Subcommittee on Internal Security, biographical
information on which Sourwine had previousl .requested.

House Committee on Un-American Activities. Agency has no

4. - JMM) I land I attended a meeting with
the DDCI, DDP and Dr. Charles Reichardt, Director, Division of Intelligence,
AEC, in the DDCI's office. Dr. Reichardt was informed that we had little
significant information to contribute regarding the and that 25X1
we understood the latest and most complete material was available in the
State Department. Dr. Reichardt was also informed that the Agency had
no information supporting current press speculation that some of the
recent European suicides had involved atomic espionage. We discussed
mutual problems regarding our respective relations with the Joint Committee
on Atomic Energy staff and agreed on a generally common approach.
