Received a call from Mr. Richard Hines, Staf Consultant, House Science and Astronautics Committee, requesting advice for Representative Alphonzo Bell concerning an industrial security clearance matter. I referred Mr. Hines to Chief, Office of Industrial Security, Defense Supply Agency. 6. Received a call from Mr. Jay Sourwine, Senate Internal Security Subcommittee staff, concerning Miami foreign language news broadcasts this afternoon indicating possible revolt unri-infy ' in Oriente Province, Cuba. After checking with I II advised that we had no information that would verify the reports. 7? Talked with Colonel James Brower, Office of ecretary of Defense, Legislative Liaison, regarding the request we had received from the Senate Preparedness Subcommittee staff for a briefing on the developments of the crisis in Czechoslovakia and the status of the situation there at this time. I queried Colonel Brower as to whether he had received a similar request. He said tha. Ben Gilleas, of the Subcommittee staff, had mentioned the possibility of a Pentagon contribution on this but added that no specific request was made. Brower plans to discuss this with DIA officials but feels if any briefing is to be given it should be given by CIA. I stressed the importance of coordinating any presentations given to this staff and Brower readily agreed. Talked with Richard Murphy, on the staff of co , regarding a letter to the Senator from hich was referred to us by the State Department at the Senator's request. IIs a Consultant on Economics of Public Utilities and appears to be quite ing Soviet work in this field.
