(Internal Use Only - LLM) Robert Hull, Department of State, called in connection with my earlier inquiry and reported that the Foreign Service Association Hospital Plan will be amended effective 1 January 1970 to place overseas and domestic Foreign Service personnel on the same footing with respect to' reimbursement under the medical insurance plan and the overseas medical statutory benefit program. This will place the Foreign Service plan into major compliance with the suggestions of the Comptroller General's report and will involve probably a 20 percent increase in premium costs. Mr. C. W. Pike (D., N.Y.), called to express the Congressman's appreciation for the FBIS material covering the period prior to the seizure of the Pueblo, and asked if we could provide a similar compilation following the seizure and dealing primarily with the Pueblo's mission and orders as broadcast by Pyongyang, Korea. She said the Congressman would appreciate this material prior to his next Subcommittee meeting which is scheduled for 10:00 a. m. on 14 March. (Confidential - GLC) Mike Finley, Executive Assistant to Representative Dante Fascell, c to say that a reporter in Key West, Florida for the Miami Herald had been in touch with their office regarding what the reporter referred to as increasing numbers of boats of armed Cubans being picked up on the Florida coast. According to the reporter, these boats have been taken into custody by the Coast Guard but no action has been taken with regard to the individuals involved. The reporter wanted to know how he could contact the Agency with regard to this. I told Finley that this was a matter for joint responsibility on the part of the Coast Guard, the Immigration and Naturalization Service and the FBI, and not an Agency problem. Finley also mentioned that an individual by the name of had told Wright Langley, of the Miami Herald, that two boats were operating out of Marathon, Florida and he thinks these boats are owned by CIA. After discussing this with Deputy Chief, WH Division, I advised Finley that Congressman Fascell was well informed regarding our activities and was aware that the Agency was not engaging in operations of this sort. Finley said this caused him no problems and thanked me for my response. 6. (Internal Use Only - JGO) Received from Colonel White a tentative date of Wednesday 22 May for meeting with Mr. John Winslow, Consultant to the Job Classification Subcommittee of House Post Office and Civil Service, Mr. Winslow, his assistant and secretary were all away from the office, however, during the day.
