SUBJECT: Participation of NAM officials as Consultants on Advisory Panels
of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)
At the request of the CIA. NASA has agreed to make available a number of
RASA officials to assist the CIA by serving in an advisory capacity on
eight panels dealing with aerospace science and technology. Enclosure A
is a copy of the agreed guidelines covering this activity.
After consultation with the Program Directors, I have designated the VASA
officials listed in the attachment to Enclosure A to serve on the various
panels. The selection of designees reflects our belief in the need to make
available as consultants high level NASA officials who have a broad and
intimate technical knowledge of the state of the art and of NA$A activities
in the various categories identified by the panel titles. The; addressees
are requested to notify the designees attached to their respective activities
of this assignment, and to insure that each designee is fully informed as
to the governing guidelines.
NASA Center Directors may expect to be called upon to host panel meetings
from time to time.
