SUBJECT: Briefing of CIA Subcommittee, House Appropriations
Committee, Wednesday, 29 October 1969
1. I met with Mr. Robert Michaels, House Appropriations
Committee staff, this afternoon. The CIA Subcommittee meeting is
now scheduled for 10:00 a. m. and In Mr. Michaels' estimation will
run two hours or something less.
2. Mr. Michaels mentioned specifically that there is Committee
interest in the new Soviet bomber.
3. With regard to our budget, Mr. Michaels felt that we should
expect any or all of the following questions:
a. how much is the Agency pay raise costing us;
b. what is the status of funding of the
c. what was the change in the Agency's budget pro..)p_)sals
between the original submiset n and the higher submissi n
after the Nix.)n administration took over.
