(Confidential - JMD) Mr, Boyd Crawford, Staff Administrator of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, called to ask the Director to appear before the full Committee during the week of the 16th of March, in executive session, on the situation in Laos. Mr. Crawford said that Secretary of State Rogers and Secretary of Defense Laird have also been asked to appear that same week. (Confidential - LLM) In response to his request of yesterday, advised J. Sourwine, Chief Counsel, Senate Internal Security Subcommittee, that Raya Kiselnikova had defected to the Mexican Government. I told him we would note the Subcommittee' s interest against the unlikely possibility of a change in the situation and he was thankful for the consideration. Mr. Bob Davis, Chairman, IDC, said he would make an appropriate notation in the file. 2. (Confidential - GLC) Marian Czarnecki, on the staff of the House- Committee on Foreign Affairs, called and asked if we would review two reports which have come to Representative Dante Fascell's (D., Fla. ) attention and which he had asked to have referred to us. One of these has to do with the arrival of "mysterious cargo from the Soviet Union" in Cuba and the other has to do with the recent Cuban confiscation of a private boat, the Jocelyn Sea. These reports were picked up from the Foreign Affairs Committee and have been forwarded to n OSR for review. 25X1A 25X1A 3. (Secret - JGO) Received a call from Mr. , Office of Security, who inquired whether this office ever arranged a briefing on Radio Free Asia and Chinese Communist radio facilities and jamming capa- bilities, for Mr. Nathan Cohan and Mr. Hilliard (last name unknown.) The briefing obstensibly would have been at the request of Representative John Dowdy (D., Texas). OLC files, CA staff and China OperationEU)sR,~QP, have been checked and no record was found of such a briefing. Mr.-has been advised. 4. (Unclassified - JGO) Talked to Representative Spark Matsunaga (D., Hawaii) and provided the local temporary Washington address of Mr. and Mrs. Representative Matsunaga was most appreciative of Agency assistance provided in this matter.
