5. Dropped by to see Earl Morgan, on the
staff of the House Armed Services Committee, to let him know that
General Cushman and Messrs. I ndI would be attending
the funeral of Representative Rivers in Charleston tomorrow. I obtained
from the Committee staff the address and phone number of Mr. Rivers'
district office in Charleston.
I told Morgan of my visit with Clifford Gaucher, on Representative
Philbin's staff. Morgan was rather irritated that we had taken this up
directly with Mr. Philbin and his personal staff, but said he would discuss
it with Frank Slatinshek when he returned around noontime.
6. George Murphy, on the staff of the Joint 25X6
Committee on Atomic Energy, called and asked for any information
(classified or unclassified) of "security violations involving 1 :9
situation. I told him I would check on this and be back in touch with him.
