I was pleased to learn on my return from leave this week
that the President had signed the recent amendments to the
Central Intelligence Agency Retirement Act, which you were so
instrumental in obtaining, for u:s.
Since its enactment in 1964, the CIA Retirement Act and
the retirement system under it have become increasingly impor-
tant aspects of the Agency?s overall personnel management pros-
gram.. I am grateful for your understanding of the need to asrxre
the continuing effectiveness of the Act and for your most recent
efforts toward this and.
