Approved For Release 2005/12/14_: CIA-RDP72-00337R000400030051-6 SAL I Journal - Office of Legislative Counsel Tuesday - 3 June 1969 Page 3 10. Saw Senator Birch Bayh (D. , Ind.) very briefly but did not have an opportunity to bring him up-to-date on the status of our contacts with Senator Ervin on S. 782 She said she would call me as soon as it would be convenient for the Senator to talk with us about this. In the meantime she will ask him to let us know if he hears that action is contemplated on this bill. 25X1 11. Met with Edward Bauser and George Murphy, on the staff of the Joint Committee on Atomic Energy, and alerted them to the most recent information concerning the Communist Chinese missile test range. They were much interested in this and asked that we keep them informed with regard to any further information developed on this. 12. Captain Bauser said that several weeks ago he had been told (by someone he obviously did not wish to identify) that more specifi~5X1 data was available on the Tallinn system which indicated that it was not an ABM system. He said the source of this information referred to and added that Carl Duckett, DD/S&T, could tell him more about this. asked if I would check on this and I told him I would be glad to do so. 13. Peer DeSilva, Chief FI Staff, reported on his luncheon with Seymour Frieden and Joe Barbarette, both on the staff of Senator Thomas J. Dodd (D., Conn. ). This was strictly a social visit and nothing of Agency interest came up. Frieden did not mention the matter 25X1 and neither did DeSilva. 14. Saw Pat Holt, on the staff of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and told him that would brief the 25X1 Western Hemisphere Subcommittee on insurgency in Latin America on 16 June at 10:00 a. m. as he had requested. I indicated that Mr. Maury would accompany him and that might bring someone else to assist him. SECRET Approved For Release 2005/12/14: CIA-RDP72-00337R000400030051-6
