MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD
Following a number of discussions with various individuals
in Finance and Personnel concerning the method of implementation of
the creditable service benefits authorized by 5.2984 (PL. 91-630,
31 December 1971), I called
and was assured that the
Office of Personnel would be notifying CIARD annuitants of their
rights to request the crediting for retirement purposes of the Social
Security Federal Service with which S. 2984 is concerned. CIA employees
who have retired under the Civil Service retirement system presumably
will be notified of the change in law by the Civil Service Commission.
