In response to my request of yesterday Mr. Brian Hessler, Administrative Assistant to Representative W. E. Brock (R., Tenn.), reported that S. 823 (Fair Credit Reporting Act) will be the subject of extensive hearings, the Banking and Currency Committee is aware of the Administration's interest in preserving Govern- ment agency access to credit reports, and the prospects for passage in some form look good. 25X1 2. Talked to Robert Hull, Department of State, concerning the disability provision of the Foreign Service Retire- ment Act. See Memorandum for the Record. Delivered to Miss Dorothy Fosdick, Staff Director of the Senate Subcommittee on National Security and Inter- national Operations, a copy of an FBIS report of Defense Minister Grechko's speech in Minsk on 15 March. 25X1 4. 1 Met with Mr. Ralph Preston, on the staff of the House Appropriations Committee, who told me that the Defense Sub- committee will be meeting with Mr. Froehlke next Monday, March 23, on the subject of "overall intelligence. " Mr. Preston indicated that Mr. Froehlke will be appearing in his capacity as special assistant for intel- ligence... He indicated that this hearing will be followed by hearings the following clay with DIA in the morning and NSA in the afternoon. I briefed Mr. Preston on several items of intelligence.
