called and sai he would like T briefing on the "South Vietnamese case"
and a general updated briefing tomorrow morning at 10:30 a. m. I told
the Senator we would be happy to oblige.
8. ay Sourwine, on the staff of the
Senate Subcommittee on internal Security, called with reference to an
article in this morning's Washington Post indicating that Al Fatah
reportedly was indoctrinating a number of western youths in Jordan.
Mr. Sourwine is interested in any information we might have in the
identity of the Americans who might be involved.
Personnel, ca e and said that Mr. Wattles is very interested in
H. R. 13008 -- having to do with the improvement of position classifi-
cation systems within the executive branch. I advised Mr. that
the House Post Office and Civil Service Committee received testimony
from Civil Service Commissioner Hampton and Roger Jones, of-the
Bureau of the Budget, on this bill on 5 and 6 August. I told

I ob Vagley the House Education and Labor Committee staff that
ad not been an employee of this Agency but might have
been in some indirect way in the National Student Association activities.
I added that we would be most interested in knowing more abou
allegation of association with the Agency. Vagley thanked me for this
information and said he would be back in touch with me if he learned
anything further on this.
