Approved For Release 2006/12/01: CIA-RDP72-00337R000500060042-2 SEC DEL Journal - Office of Legislative Counsel Page 2 Tuesday - 8 September 1970 6. (Unclassified - GLC) Checked with Victor Zafra, in th Office of Management and Budget, and subsequently with Mr. William Mc etta, Legislative Liaison Uiiice--of Treasury, on the status of Treasury's comments on our legislative package. Mr. McVetta indicated that action on this rested with Mr. Gary Rasmussen in their Debt Analysis Section. Les Bush subsequently checked with Mr. Rasmussen who promised that Treasury would get their views to OMB tomorrow morning. It appears, however, that Treasury will recommend a change in our definition of unfunded liability in the funding provision of our draft bill. 7. (Internal Use Only - JGO) Met with Joyce Curtis, Staff Assistant to Senator Philip A. Hart (D., Mich. ), and reviewed with her the correspondence forwarded by transmittal slip of 1 September from 8. (Internal Use Only - JGO) Met with Fran Christy, Immigration and Nationality Subcommittee staff, House Committee on Judiciary, who told me that a request for report had not been received from Representative Charles M. Teague (R. , Calif.) and that the request would be necessary before further processing of the bill by the Subcommittee. On the strength of this advice I met with Montgomery Winkler, Administrative Assistant to Representative Charles M. Teague (R., Calif.), who told me that 25X1 Mr. Teague's request for a report oni would be forwarded to the Subcommittee. 9. (Secret - JGO) Met with Mr. James E. Wilson, House Science and Astronautics Committee staff, and brought him up to date on Soviet space activities relating to the Venus probes of 17 August and 22 August and the SL-12 space booster. Mr. Wilson told me that Chairman Miller will be in Europe at the air show, returning around the 14th of September. Reproved Forl~elease 2006/ - - -
