Approved For Release 2006/11/07: CIA-RDP72-00337R000500090013-1 CONFIDENTIAL JOURNAL OFFICE OF LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL Wednesday - 13 May 1970 1. (Confidential - LLM) Mr. Carlisle Morrison, Assistant to Senator Allen J. Ellender (D., La.), called to ask our assistance in locating a letter written to the Senator by an official in the Execu- tive Branch thanking the Senator for a picture taken by him of a hydro- foil on the Volga in 1957. Later I called Morrison and told him we have no record of the letter; that there is record of a letter of gratitude from Mr. Dulles dated 18 January 1957 concerning the debriefing of the Senator on a previous trip, and that we are attempting to identify the picture in our records in the hope that it may shed some light on who outside of the Agency may have written the letter. I told Morrison we would be in touch with him if we developed any helpful information. Mr. Morrison was grateful for our efforts. 2. (Unclassified - LLM) Received a call from a caller in Salt Lake City, Utah, identifying himself Iwho is interested in producing a TV series on the Agency patterned after "The FBI and not "Mission Impossible." The matter was referred to Mr. Goodwin. 3. (Internal Use Only - LLM) Mr. William Woodruff, Counsel, Senate Appropriations Committee, called to call our attention to section 7 of H.R. 15628 (Foreign Military Sales Act) prohibiting assistance to Cambodia (Church-Cooper-Aiken-Mansfield amendment) as reported out by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee today.
