National Security Agency, who wanted to know the security status of
John W. Edmiston, on the staff of Senator Howard Baker (R., Tenn. ),
and referred her to the proper office in the Office of the Secretary of
Defense.
6. Robert Horner, Chief Investigator, House
Internal Security Committee, P~ and as f I could pick up a thank 25X1
you letter from Chairman Ichord tol relating to the latter's
testimony before the full Committee. 25X1
In connection with their request forl to
appear before the Committee, I alerted Horner to the possibility ol a
rior request of Senate Internal Security Subcommittee and told him that 25X1
resent frame of mind is such that it is doubtful that he
would bt-, an effective witness and the pressure of testifying might be a
setback Horner understood perfectly. I told him
we were prepared to come up with a substitute who we thought would do a
good job, but Horner said they had locate4 -1 and it may be that
they will be able to get all they want from him. If not, he will let us know.
7. Spoke to Mike Glennon, in the office of
Representative Donald Fraser (D. , Minn. ), and in connection with his
questions on the Board of National Estimates and USIA referred him to
National Intelligence by Jack Zlotnick and The Real CIA by Lyman B.
