5. Picked up from Jay Sourwine, Chief
Counsel, Senate Internal Security Subcommittee, the galley proofs of
the~estimony for review and appropriate changes, after which
it is to be returned to the Subcommittee and will be published.
6. Jack Norpel, Research Director, Senate
Internal Security Subcommittee, called and said the second set of
pictures with identities are available for our use and arrangements
were made to pick them up at the Subcommittee. (See Journal of
28 September. )
7. Miss Napoli, in the office of
Representative Robert Giaimo (D. , Conn. ), called for a constituent
interested in obtaining the Soviet press summary. Based on discussion
with FBIS, I referred Miss Napoli to the National
Technical Information Service for information on a subscription to the
Soviet Union Daily Report.
After checking with the Director, I told John
hat we would appreciate
his urging Joseph Wolf, of the state epar_men , to get deleted from the
published record on last March's Foreign Relations Committee hearings
on Spanish bases a comment of Chairman Fulbright in which he undertook
to quote the Director.
10. Wheaton Byers, of PFIAB, called for a briefing
on the Fulbright amendment. Arranged for him to meet with John Warner
and tomorrow.
