(Internal Use Only - RJK) Per arrangements made by Mr. Miller, left with Richard Emanuel, on the staff of Representative Emilio Q. Daddario (D., Conn.), two China Map Folios. 5. (Secret - RJK) Delivered to Richard Perle, Senate Subcommittee on National Security and International Operations staff, two maps of the Mid-East area which had been prepared from Senator Jackson's original by I graphics people. Perle was delighted to receive the maps which will be included in the Senator's trip report. 6. (Confidential - LLM) In followup of our conversation on Friday, called Miss Tamfnen, .in the office of Representative Frank Horton, and told her that we had no employment record oni and she thanked me. (Earlier I spoke with FE/B&F, who 25X1 advised me he was in no way associated with the inquiry.) 7. (Internal Use Only - JGO) Met with Mr. Jack Matteson, Subcommittee on Foreign Operations and Government Information, House Committee on Government Operations staff, and reviewed with him Chairman Moss' letter of December 10. I advised Mr. Matteson that the President's directive concerning public relations activities was not addressed to the Central Intelligence Agency and that recheck with the Office of Management and Budget has verified that no report on the matter is expected from the Central Intelligence Agency. Mr. Matteson thanked me for the advice and said that a one paragraph response to Chairman Moss' letter advising that the subject matter of President Nixon's November 6 directive has no application to the Agency will be sufficient. 8. (Internal Use Only - JGO) Met with Miss Vivian Cassidy, STATOTHR in the office of Representative Jack H. McDonald (R. , Mich. ), and reviewed with her the constituent correspondence from Michigan concerning Army intelligence gathering of information and dossiers on American citizens opposed to the war in Vietnam. The Congressman's office will forward the correspondence to the Department of the Army for their information. No further action is expected from the Agency. 9. (Secret - JGO) Talked to Frank Slatinshek, Acting Chief Counsel, House Armed Services Committee, who told me that due to a Democratic caucus and a Republican meeting at the White House, the Armed Services Committee hearing on S. 4571, the Agency retir ei ent bill, has been changed from Wednesday to Thursday, 17 December, at 10:00 a. m.
