OFFICE OF LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL
Monday - 30 November 1970
1. Talked to Mr. Drury Blair, Acting Director,
Senate Immigration an Naturalization Subcommittee staff, concerning
the content of the
. Warner, OGC, has been advised.
2. Received a call from Mr. Roland Paul,
Senate Foreign Relations Committee staff, concerning North Vietnamese
military forces. Roland asked if we could give him the number of North
Vietnamese that have been killed in terms of the percentage of the male
population between the ages of 17 and 23. Without telling me either the
source of his information or the per cent that had been given to him,
Roland said that the figures he has at present are just unbelievable and so
was turning to us for an authoritative figure. It was agreed that late in
the week would be ample time for the Committee's needs.
DDI, has been advised.
3. During a chance encounter over the
weekend, Assistant Secretary of State for Congressional Relations Dave
Abshire told me he had never received a reply to his offer to brief
Senator Clifford Case in response to the Senator's query re Radio Free)
25X1 Europe and Radio Liberty. (See Journal of 6 November 1970.) We
agree trait f h; Matter was probably closed and there was no need to
take any initiative to reopen it with the Senator.
