2. Pay Raise
The following is an extract from the journal of the Office of the Legisla-
tive Counsel, Monday, 24 August:
"8. (Internal Use Only - JGO) Met with Mr. Charles Johnson,
Staff Director, House Post Office and Civil Service Committee, and
discussed with him. the Comptroller General's ruling of 20 August
concerning administrative adjustment of compensation schedules to
be effective 5 July 1964, the date established in the Federal Employees
Salary Reform Act of 1964. Mr. Johnson was very pleased with the
finding in favor of the Agency position. It Is his Judgment that publica-
tion of an internal notice within the Agency and publication by the
Comptroller General of the 20 August opinion on Wednesday, 26 August,
should not affect In any way consider-tion of H.R. 5932 when Congress
reconvenes after the Democratic Convention."
