SUBJECT: Records Officers Spring Conference
One of the highlights in the second quarter of the year was the
Records Officers Spring Conference held 7 May 1968, at the Headquarters
Auditorium. The theme of the conference encompassed History Writing,
Archives and the Agency Retention Plan.
120 personnel attended the afternoon Conference which commended
at 1:00 PM and was concluded at approximately 4:20 PM. The principal
speakers as originally planned were:
Mr. Robert L. Bannerman, Deputy Director for Support
Dr. James B. Rhoads, Archivist of the United States
Dr. Edward Campbell, Assistant Archivist for the National Archives

The four directorates and independent offices were represented
and comprised of a fine cross-section of Records Officers, Historians,
and Other Administrative personnel directly concerned with the topics
discussed. A breakdown follows of those attending (those that were
identified) by Directorate and category.
