1. Pursuant to your verbal request of 16 March 1970,
set forth below is the Records Purge Progress Report of the
Office of Security for the period 1 January 1970 through 31 l .arch
1970:
A. Amount of Manpower Expended:
Estixrated 130 hours
8. Breakdown of Progress:
Records Reviewed - 56 feet
Records Destroyed - 41 feet
C. Other Actions Resulting Froxx. Purge Prograne:
a. Twenty-one (21) feet of records destroyed
at the Center per revised Records Schedules.
Records retirement to and holdings at the
Center down in all components with the
exception of one component where statutes
regulate reductions.

D. Material at Center:
As of 31 March 1970, the Office of Security
will have 3, 165 feet of regards at the Center.
This represents a decrease of 34 feet of records
since the beginning of the 1970 year. This
decrease is attributed to reductions in the
amount of rz4aterial being retired, revised
records schedules and the project now under-
way in the Interrogation Research Division
to review their 378 feet of records at the Center,
38 feet of which has now been recalled for review
and disposition.
