SUBJECT : Status Report, 1 June 1971 - 30 June 1971
1. There have been no developments of sufficient import in
the CS Records Management Program to warrant reporting them to
Colonel White. We are still working with.t two microfiche pilot 'i =
projects at Headquarters and another at the
The amount of material microfilmed so far is not large enoug or
us to draw any firm conclusions. We are convinced, however, that
we must make greater use of photography even though it will be
expensive, particularly in manpower.
2. CS components are continuing their review of material
at the Records Center and other holdings with the objective of
weeding out and destroying material of no value. A number of
components are also studying various collections of records which
might be converted to microfilm.
3. In reference to your request for a statistical report of
records retirements, disposals, etc., we wish you to know that we
have found no significant errors in the figures maintained by the
Records Center. For this reason we are quite willing to accept
their figures.
