FT 31 January 1964 MEMORANDUM FOR: Curator, Historical Intelligence Collection, OCR Subject : FBIS Documents for Kennedy Memorial Library 1. The following is in reply to your query about DBIS documents for includsion in the collection for the John F. Kennedy Memorial Library. 2. The only FBIS documents which are presently available on micro- film are the Daily reports and Daily Report (area) Supplements. Sixteen- millimeter microfilm of these publications are on file in the CIA Library. All issues from 1 July 1960 to 31 December 1965 would be appropriate for the Kennedy Library. Although unclassified, portions bear the control OFFICIAL USE ONLY. 3. The following publications are on file in the CIA Library: a. Daily Report Supplements - World Reaction Series - These are reports of foreign radio and. press reaction to specific significant events. The 27 issues published from 14 November 1963 would be appropriate for the collection.. These are OFFICIAL USE ONLY. b. The FBIS Radio Propaganda Branch publishes a three-page weekly document entitled "Trends and Highlights of Communist bloc propaganda" of significant events. All issues published from July 1960 through 1965 would be appropriate for the collection. Classification: CONFIDENTIAL. c. The Radio Propaganda Branch also published a biweekly "Survey of Communist Bloc Propaganda" dealing with communist radio and press material bearing on East-West relations and internal affairs of communist countries. Issues average 35 pages. Issues from July 1960 through 1965 would be appropriate. Classification: CONFIDENTIAL. d. Radio Propaganda Reports are studies of Communist radio and press treatment of international developments and Issues, relations among communist countries, and internal affairs of communist countries. These include a series on Cuban radio. Issues run from four to more than fifty pages. All issues from July 1960 through 1963 would. be appropriate with the exception of those listed on attached Tab a. These are OFFICIAL USE ONLY or CONFIDENTIAL. it. FBIS has produced various typescripts and special memorandums which would be appropriate for the collection. These average fl.ve or six pages in length and are available in FBIS for microfilming upon request.
