Subject: Proposed USIB Community Central Records Storage Facility
1. On 12 April 1965, I discussed the above subject with Dr. Herbert
Angel, Assistant Archivist for Records Centers, General Services Admini-
stration. The purpose of this discussion was to:
a. provide him with a copy of the Staff Study of 10 No. 196+
on the USIB Records Center
b. furnish him with the following estimates of the volume of
intelligence materials to be placed in the new Federal
Records Center at Suitland, Maryland

2. I also explained to Dr. Angel the effect of the agreements
negotiated between CIA and other USIB member agencies in 1961.
3. GSA expects to award a contract shortly for the construction
of a new Federal Records Center at Suitland. They will provide vault
space for storage of finished intelligence materials for the entire
community. The space will be equipped with shelving and the necessary
alarms, a fire detection system and special security features will be
provided. The entire cost of construction, including special security
features will be provided by General Services Adjinistration.
