7. I I Met with Mr. Richard Barton, Employee
Subcommittee, House Post Office and Civil Service Committee,
who told me in essence that at this time he foresees very little action on
the Ervin bills concerning constituational rights of Federal employees
during the remainder of this calendar year. He also told me, in passing,
that action on this matter in the Senate seems to be at a standstill.
8. Met with Mr. W. H. Boone, House Science and
Astronautics Committee staff, and brought him up-to-date on Soviet manned
space activity.
