Car.) office, regarding the possibility of the Senator speaking to the Senior Seminar on 28 October. She said she would call during next week and let me know of his availability. 2. JMM) Talked to Gail Alexander, of Senator Birch Bayh's JD., Inc, office, regarding the Senator's talking to our Senior Seminar on 28 October. She said his schedule was very uncertain but she would let me know next week what the possibilities were. 3. II JMM) Briefed Braswell, Ticer, and Goldsmith, of the Senate Armed Services Committee staff, on recent developments including the India-Pakistan situation, Soviet ICBM and ABM develop- ments, Soviet naval activities in the west Atlantic, new Soviet submarine facility, and the status of the ChiCom CSS-2 IRBM. 4. JMM) Briefed Bill Woodruff, Counsel, Senate Appropriations Committee, on the above items. 5. JMM) Provided a defensive briefing to Bill Cook, House rme ervices Committee staff, who is about to depart on a visit to the Soviet Union. 6. JMM) Jack Miller, Administrative Assistant to Representative alter Flowers (D. , Ala. ), called to say that as interested in Agency employment. He explained that0 had made an extremely good impression during his work on the Hill, and had done graduate work in Far Eastern affairs and had some fluency in Chinese. I said our opportunities at the moment were extremely limited, but we would be glad to talk to and at least keep him in mind for the future.
