In response to his call to Colonel White, I called NSA, to give him a few personal views on what he might encounter in NSA's upcoming briefing of Chairman Hebert. I told him they would find Hebert relaxed and informal, and suggested they avoid an overly technical or formal presentation. I said that they might 25X1A expect questions about Soviet naval activity in Cuba and the Carribbean, which0 said they had not anticipated and for which he expressed appreciation. 9, Discussed with Bill Woodruff, Counsel, Senate Appropriations Committee, some problems regarding a meeting between the Director and Chairman Ellender, and reported the results to the Director. 11. Delivered to the offices of Senator George Aiken (R., Vt.), Frank Church (D., Idaho), Edward Gurney (R., Fla.), Birch Bayh (D., Ind. ), J. W. Fulbright (D., Ark.), Adlai Stevenson (D., Ill. ), Edmund Muskie (D., Maine), George McGovern (D., S. Dak.) and Representative Henry Helstoski (D. , N. J.) II items in which their names were mentioned. 12.
