George Murphy, on the staff of the Joint Committee on Atomic Energy, cal - yrifh reference to the New York Times article yesterday reporting on the Murphy cited the Joint Committee's interest and concern with NATO security in connection with agreements for cooperation for the sharing of atomic energy information and asked if I would check to see whether I F_: I told him I would check on this and be back in touch with him. Mur-phy s asked if we could provide him with in Washington. I told him I would check and let him know. 2. In response to the Senate Armed Services Committee staff's request for our views on the Symington amendment to the Military Procurement Act, I talked several times with Mr. Jim Woolsey, of the staff, and in response to his request provided him with language the Committee might use in conference to clarify the scope of the amendment. It was understood by Woolsey that this was done on an informal basis 2X1 2X1 this afternoon to discuss strategy for the conference on the Military Procure- ment Act and the Senate conferees will meet tomorrow for the same purpose. Woolsey commented that the staff was meeting with airman enn 3.1 Left with David Martin, on the staff of the Senate Internal Security Subcommittee, a copy of the JPRS translation of the Soviet document "Stairway of War and Deception.
