(Unclassified - JGO) Received a call from Miss Rickie Gerger, Personal Secretary to Representative Bill Archer (R. , Texas), who asked if the Agency had a formal scholarship or other programs available to assist a student majoring in criminology in graduate school. I told Miss Gerger that the Agency does not provide scholarship assistance for graduate students. 8. (Internal Use Only - LLM) Talked to Miss Harriett Hoctor, in the office of Representative Joel T. Broyhill (R., Va.), concerning the telegram he had sent to the Secretary of the Army on behalf of an FBIS employee. The document and accompanying notes will be forwarded to FE Division. No response is desired by Mr. Norpel. 2, I In the absence of Fred Mesmer, Senate Immigration and Naturlization Subcommittee staff, I met briefly with Mr. Drury Blair, of the Subcommittee staff, concerning recent meetings between Mr. A. Trevor Gallaher, the Subcommittee staff, and members of Senator Eastland's (D. , Miss.) personal staff. Mr. Blair asked if I could meet with him, Mr. Mesmer, and possibly Mr. Courtney Pace, Administrative Assistant to Senator Eastland, tomorrow or Thursday. Mr. Blair will arrange the meeting and advise me in the morning. Received a call late in the day from who told me that a request had just been received from I&NS for a statement of the service performed in the Con o in coordination with the U. S. Government by I l is relaying the request to OGC for action. 4. Met with Mrs. Withey, in the office of Senator Barry Goldwater (R. , Ariz. ), and firmed up arrange- ments for herself and Messrs. Jim Roscoe, Stan Gray, and Tom Reavis, of the Senator's office, to visit Headquarters on Friday, 20 August, from 10 to 11:30 a. m, 5. Mary Bernard, of the Joint Committee on Congressional Information, called to ask for the fact sheet of services the Agency offers to Members, but I explained that we are a service organization for the President dealing with classified information and as such had no constituent services or public functions, which Miss Bernard accepted.
