1. Mr. Bill Brier, in the office of
Representative Larry Winn (R. , Kans.), called and said a Miss
would like to resubmit her application for employment
with the Agency. Miss had previously applied sometime around
December last year, but turned down the position offered her because at
that time she did not wish to move to Washington. After checking with the
Office of Personnel, Mr. Brier was advised that an appointment has been
scheduled for Miss to meet with Mr. Otomorrow morning
anytime between 11:00 and 12:30 at the Ames Building.
2. I IMade a f ollowup call to Mrs. Parker, on the
staff of Senator Hiram L. ong (R., Hawaii), in response to a call which
she made directly to Mr. Africa Division. (Mrs. Parker
had been referred directly to by State Department.) She is anxious
to make arrangements for
talk with someone in the Agency about the case o

whom he represents. According to information obtained from Mrs. Parker,
as well as alerts given us by the is flying to
Washington fromOnext Monday for the sole purpose of talking with
representatives of State, Defense, and CIA about services which
has rendered to the U. S. Government in Africa and in Laos. I told Mrs. Parker
we were looking into the matter to see if we had any records concerning
Mr.~ and said I would be back in touch with her tomorrow.
3. I uIn response to our query ecurity, 25X1
advised that Mr. Wade Clarke, of the Senate Labor Subcommittee on Alcoholism
and Narcotics, has a current secret clearance with DOD; and Mr. Park Rinard,
Administrative Assistant to Senator Harold Hughes, (D., Iowa), has a DOD
secret clearance in process. These men are traveling to Southeast Asia on
behalf of Senator Hughes, Chairman of the Subcommittee, to look into the
drug situation in Southeast Asia. Senator Hughes has written the Director
asking that we provide appropriate courtesies to these men. A cable is being
sent to the FE stations concerned.
