6. (Unclassified - GLC) Hand-carried to Jim Lucier, on the
staff of Senator Strom Thurmond (R., S. C.), a co y of '

removed) in response to his request to the State Department. I told
Lucier that while this publication was produced by the Agency we would
prefer he not attribute it to us in any use of the material in it.
7. (Unclassified - GLC) Left for John Marks, on the staff of
Senator Clifford P. Case (R., N.J.), a supply of Agency pamphlets
for use in handling constituent inquiries in response to his request.
8. (Confidential - GLC) George Murphy, on the staff of the
Joint Committee on Atomic Energy, called and asked if I would drop by
some time next week to go over some questions with him which he might
propose for the Chairman at the Director's briefing of the Joint Committee
on 24 February. Murphy did mention, however, that he would certainly
be asking the Director about his opinion on certain matters pertaining
to the acquisition of computer technology by the Soviets. I have alerted
both OER, to the need for backup material
for the Director on this subject.
