Minority Leader Gerald Ford, I made arrangements for a per sonnel
7. I IMr. Goodwin called to alert us to the
fact that Senator Edward Kennedy, Chairman of the Senate Subcommittee
on Refugees and Escapees, has put out a press statement for release on
Sunday to the effect that 50 percent of the money designated for AID
refugee programs in Indochina has gone to CIA and been used jor
terrorist and military activities in Laos. Goodwin is contacting the
Director on this and we have also notified FE Division and the DDS.
An attempt to obtain a copy of the press release through another sub-
committee of the Judiciary Committee brought the response the o.. the
release was being made available only to the press and to the State
Department. Since a copy of the release is being obtained through 25X1
State, we did. not press the matter further on the Hill.

Warner received from Frank Meyer, Administrative Assistan`.- .o House 25X1
interview at 9:00 a. m. next Tuesday for
