The MIS Master File is fed into the MIS Master, File Date Purge Program
along with the date parameter.card.input. In accordance with the decision
logic shim in attachment 1, the program produces two. files- one, a New MIS.
Master File, the other, a'file;of those records-purged from the original
MIS Master File. The New MIS Master File goes on as input to PHASE II.
The-
file of purged records is saved for possible later use.
PHASE II
The New MIS Master File is'fed into the MIS UPDATE CYCLE, with the
only transaction against it being a "Leave project" time card. with an
illegal transaction code.- Thus it is insured that the entire New MIS Master
File will pass through the update, producing the MIS Reports Listing (Reports
1-13) with the statistics for.all the information now present on the New MIS
Master File. None of,the data that was present as input to this UPDATE
will have been disrupted since the only transaction against the file will have
been rejected by the Time Card Edit routine during the- course of the update.
