Approved For ReI2g,"APDIA-RDP74-000058000100070021-4 w 10 September 1971 MEMORANDUM FOR: Chief, Support Services Staff Security Reference is made to your memo dated 3 September 1971 2)AI1A concerning the T.V. coverage of Until about the middle of July the installation of the T.V. equipment 25X1A in was under contract and little could be done concerning this equipment without jeopardizing the terms of the contract. Alternative measures taken during this period were: illuminate the building during the hours of darkness, install security door contacts, and increase the number of security inspections by the guard force during non-working hours. This extra coverage is believed to be more than adequate for the security coverage needed. During the contract period the T.V. cameras were found to have certain defects and were returned to the manufacturer for modification. The cameras were returned in small groups so that the maximum coverage could be given. After the completion of the camera modifications and on acceptance of the contract about the middle of July, all camera positions in wave been adequately covered. Additional cameras are available so that if there is a camera malfunction a substitute is installed promptly. In addition, one of our guards has received maintenance instructions by the Office of Security and the Electronics Laboratory and all but major problems are handled by our own guard personnel. The repaired camera is then returned to duty or placed on stand-by for future service. Each of the actions taken were coordinated with the Office of Security for their comments and recommendations.
