to Senator Proxmire's Foreign Operations Subcommittee of Senate A ro riations
Committee, regarding State Department testimony on Agency use of
25X1A See Memorandum for the Record.
5. (Confidential - GLC) Checked with George Murphy, Joint Committee
on Atomic Energy staff, on the date, time, and material to be covered at the
Director's briefing of the Committee which is scheduled for next Tuesday,
13 June at 2 p.m. See Memorandum for the Record.
6. (Confidential - GLC) Met with Scott Cohen, Executive Assistant
to Senator C talked with him about a copy of
25X1A a letter from ffice which was forwarded
25X1A b to Senator Percy. I briefed Cohen on information which we had on
25X1 A ncluding the fact he had been a patient in a mental institution and his
case had been a matter of interest to both the FBI and the Secret Service. I
told Cohen we were not responding to correspondence from this man and
recommended they might wish to ignore the letter. Cohen was not aware that
the letter had been referred to us, but said they would probably do as we
suggested.
7. (Unclassified - GLC) In response to a request from Senatc&T
STATSPEC Williams (D. , N. J. ), I provided Norma Nottingham, in the Senator's office,
with a copy of an
