6. Called Homer Krout, in the office of Repre-
sentative Joe Broyhill (R., Va.), and told him there was a possibility we
might be able to reemploy I labout whom the Congressman
had written us and with his indulgence said we would delay our response to
their letter a few days in the hope this would be the case. Krout said he would
note their file to this effect.
7 Contacted Goldie Pence, in the office of
Senator John ennis, and asked if she would use their -good
to arrange for a White House tour for offic pp in 4-"Nr4 g25X1
9 June or 8 June along with two femal miss Pence said she would
see what she could do and let me know.
81 During a couple of phone conversations
regarding tomorrows briefing of the House Appropriations Intelligence
Special Group, Ralph Preston confirmed that the briefings would be held
in H-140 of the Capitol with the morning session running from about 10:00
to 12:00 devoted to community budget and the afternoon session devoted to
the Agency budget.
Preston said he knew of no specific questions the Director would get,
but we should know in general the Chairman is pondering the problem of how
he can get "his arms around" the budget problems of the intelligence community
