Approved For Release 2006/12/06: CIA-RDP74B00415R000200130042-6 JOURNAL OFFICE OF LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL Wednesday - 4 October 1972 1. (Secret - JGO) Talked to Mr. James Wilson, House Science and Astronautics Committee staff, who told me that it would be most helpful if I would deal directly with Chairman Olin Teague (D. , Texas) in following up. on the briefing arrangements discussed with Chairman Teague last week. I thanked Mr. Wilson and told him I would keep him advised as appropriate. I briefed Mr. Wilson on two anticipated Soviet space missions. 2. (Secret - JGO) Met with Mr. Ralph Preston, House Appropriations Committee staff, who told me that he plans, if possible, to get away with his family to Florida for a couple of weeks vacation when the Congress closes up for the elections. He hopes that on his return on the 1st of the month that he will have more time and that he will be able to schedule the long-planned meeting with Messrs. Duckett, DDS&T, and Proctor, DDI, for briefing on a sensitive Agency project. He also noted in part that he has not been able to give the intelligence community time that it deserves and plans to discuss with the Chairman designating another member of the staff to work with him on community matters. Such an arrangement would not come into being until after the beginning of the next Congress. I briefed Mr. Preston on several items of current intelligence. See Memorandum for the Record. 3. (Confidential - JGO) I attempted to see David Martin, Senate Internal Security Subcommittee staff, to close out on his request concerning any further comments the Agency might have on the report by General Lewis Walt entitled "The World Drug Traffic. 5t Mr. Martin was away from his office.
