Met with Mr. David Martin, Senate Internal Security u committee staff, who told me that the transcript of General Walt's testimony of last Thursday has not yet been returned by the reporters. He suggested I check with him in the morning and he will see if at that time a copy can be made available for our review. He noted that General Walt went away from his prepared text on many occasions in response to questions. With regard to the publication of General Walt's report on "The World Drug Traffic, " Martin told me they expect to go to the printers in about two weeks and requested that any comments that we have be returned by that time. The Senator was called to the floor for a vote and I discussed the matter in detail with his Administrative Assistant Lawrence Nakatsuka and left with him explanatory material. 6. In the absence of Senator Roman Hruska (R., Neb. ), explained our problems with the Ervin bill rider to the Civil Rights Commission bill to his Executive Assistant Dave Tishendorf and left with him explanatory material. 7?
