(Confidential - JMM) Called Norvill Jones, Consultant, Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and confirmed 11:00 a.m., Thursday, for to brief Jones on the military situation in the Middle East. 3. (Unclassified - JMM) Talked to Bill Woodruff, Counsel, Senate Appropriations Committee, who said he had had a session with Senator McClellan regarding the intelligence community. See Memorandum for the Record. 4. (Confidential - GLC) Saturday afternoon I met with David Martin, on the staff of the Senate Internal Security Subcommittee, and went over the suggested changes which our people had made in the draft of the prepared statement covering Burma, Laos and Vietnam to be used by General Walt in his testimony before the Subcommittee this morning. Martin then gave me a 14-page addition to Walt's statement. This was reviewed byl=and I telephoned his comments to Martin Sunday afternoon. Martin said he would make a number of changes in accordance with our comments and agreed to eliminate any reference to information he had obtained from intelligence officers. Mr. Colby met with General Walt Sunday evening in response to his request. 6. (Unclassified - JAL) Joy, in Representative Robert McEwin's (R. , N.
